Pangolin has been working with Chivas over the past six years to help amplify its annual social enterprise competition that blends profit with purpose, the Chivas Venture.
Each year, the Chivas Venture gives away $1 million in no-strings funding to startups that are positively impacting the world. To kick off the sixth year, our team announced the competition not only within the UK, but across 9 local markets including Australia, Kenya, Canada, Thailand and Nigeria, to name just a few. Following launch, each market undertook a local competition and crowned a local finalist to represent their country at the Chivas Venture Global Final, which was due to take place in June 2020.
Due to the impact that the COVID-19 outbreak is having on the world right now, Chivas has made the decision to curtail the competition for this year and instead distribute the $1 million fund evenly amongst the 26 global finalists. The finalists have now received $40,000 in funding, which can be put towards creating a positive change at a testing time for people across the globe.
Now more than ever our world needs the passion and dedication of those who want to bring about positive change and with this funding, the finalists can continue their important work.
We are working with the Chivas Venture to announce their response to the global outbreak and the decision to split the funding up between the finalists. We are also working with Chivas Venture alumni from previous years, to amplify the work their businesses are doing to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
We hope everyone is staying safe and adjusting to the new norm during this unusual time. The team at Pangolin will certainly be raising a glass of Chivas when this is all over!
