• Uncovering Scotland’s Illicit Past

  • Last month, we announced an exciting new partnership between The Glenlivet and conservation charity, The National Trust for Scotland. Both playing a pivotal role in Scotland’s cultural heritage, the two teamed up to launch the ‘Pioneering Spirit’ project which aims to uncover Scotland’s illicit whisky past.

The partnership is set to re-discover the forgotten bothies that were used to illegally produce and smuggle scotch across the highlands, highlighting the impact that the Scotch whisky production has had on the country’s cultural heritage and modern way of life.

The announcement was extremely well received amongst regional, trade and whisky press featuring in Scottish print and online media titles such as, The Times, The Scotsman, Master of Malt as well as an exclusive radio interview with BBC Good Morning Scotland.
